Catherine Mary (‘CM’) has worked in television production for over 30 years, mostly at a management or executive level.
Before being appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Siddha Yoga Foundation (SYF) in 2021, CM offered seva for five years as the Assistant to the SYF Board of Trustees. She offered seva primarily in Teaching & Learning Events, including as the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Sydney Manager, TLE.
CM holds a MA, BA and post graduate qualifications in law and TV production.
She lives in Sydney, where she hosted a chanting & meditation group in her north shore home for two years; she also travels to Melbourne regularly for work, having lived and offered seva there in 2016.
Dr. Christopher Magarey was for 35 years a Specialist Surgeon at St George and related hospitals in Sydney.
He was an Associate Professor in Surgery at the University of New South Wales, publishing research in breast cancer and key-hole surgery.
From 1990 he ran his own full time private surgical practice until his retirement in 2007.
He has been a Siddha Yoga Meditation Teacher since 1985. He was instrumental in the purchase of the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Newtown in 1981, and then the Siddha Yoga Ashram at Hurlstone Park in 1983. He has been the Siddha Yoga Foundation's donations coordinator since 2011 and a Trustee since 2012.
Michael retired in 2007 following a career in law, finance and general management, most recently as chief executive officer of a financial services and e-commerce start-up in Vietnam.
Before being appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Siddha Yoga Foundation in 1999, Michael offered seva in a range of roles including as a manager of the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Melbourne.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law from the University of Queensland.
He lives in Melbourne.
Catherine has a background in senior marketing and communications roles across a range of industries including IT and FMCG. She has also been an academic mentor for Masters students at the University of Sydney and a sessional lecturer for online MBA students at Macquarie University.
Today she is an independent writer, researcher, and consultant specialising in the impact of longer lives on corporate human resource management and business strategies.
Catherine holds a BA in Communications, Masters of Commerce, and PhD.
Prior to being appointed a Trustee in 2018, Catherine offered seva as a Consultant to the SYF Board. Additionally, she offered seva in a variety of roles primarily in the Teaching and Learning department, including as Content Director for a Family Retreat at the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Sydney, co-ordinator and producer for family satsangs, satsang producer, host, and coach.
Catherine lives between Sydney and her property in the country.
Andrew Boyes has worked in senior leadership roles focusing on finance, IT, business development strategy and philanthropy across diverse industries from manufacturing, importing, retail, investment and, mostly recently, the development of water treatment systems.
Prior to being appointed to the Board, Andrew offered music seva in Melbourne for many years interspersed with a long-term stay in Gurudev Siddha Peeth in IT and technology leadership roles. More recently, he has been working with the SYF Board on projects focusing on the long-term financial wellbeing of the Foundation in Australia.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance, is a past CPA and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. He lives in Melbourne.
